Samus Aran

I've been lurking around CGTalk for a couple years now mostly being awe-inspired and intimidated by all the great work. I've been trying to improve my drawing abilities so that I could submit something that I felt wouldn't be considered as just more fluff (as I'm quite skilled in the creation of cheese cakey fluff :3 ). And I think I've finally created something I feel isn't half bad.

This is part of a project I did for one of my design classes. On a whim, I decided to create a detailed digital painting of Samus Aran from the video game series Metroid-- mostly 'cause I loooove Samus. Oh Samus, how I love thee...

All in all, the image took about 36 hours of actual work to complete using Photoshop CS2. Please lend me your opinions and advice! Thanks!
